1: Chocolate Chip Cookies.

A chocolate chip cookie is a drop cookie that features chocolate chips or chocolate morsels as its distinguishing ingredients. Chocolate chip cookies originated in the United States around 1938, when Ruth Graves Wakefield cut up Nestlé semi-sweet chocolate bars and added chopped chocolate to the cookie recipe.

During World War II, Massachusetts soldiers who were stationed overseas shared cookies they received in care packages from home with soldiers from other parts of the United States. Hundreds of soldiers went home to send Toll House cookies to their families, and Wakefield received letters from around the world requesting her recipe, helping to spread her popularity beyond the East Coast. Chocolate chip cookies were first sold in the UK in 1956 by Maryland Cookies.

George Washington Carver (1864–1943), an American agricultural extension teacher at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, was the best-known promoter of the peanut as a replacement for the cotton crop, which had been heavily damaged by the boll weevil. He compiled 105 peanut recipes from various cookbooks, agricultural bulletins, and other sources. In his 1925 research bulletin How to Grow Peanuts and 105 Ways to Prepare It for Human Consumption, he included three recipes for groundnuts.
