Susan Tully (born 20 October 1967) is an English actress, television producer and television director. Her most prominent television acting roles were as rebellious teenager Susan Ross in Grange Hill and as single mother Michelle Fowler in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. Tully played one of the original EastEnders characters, appearing in the first episode on 19 February 1985 and remaining in the series until mid-1995.
Tully’s father was a watch-case maker, and his mother a homemaker. Tully was brought up on a London council estate. While at school in Barnsbury, Islington, she took up acting as a hobby and attended the Anna Sher children’s theatre, which quickly led to television work.
