Peter John Kay (born 2 July 1973) is an English actor, comedy writer and stand-up comedian. He has written, produced and starred in several television and film projects and has authored three books.

Born and raised in Bolton, Kay studied media performance at the University of Salford. He began working part-time as a stand-up comedian, winning the North West Comedian of the Year Award. In 1997 he won Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny competition and the following year was nominated for a Perrier Award for his show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With his public profile rising, in 2000 he co-wrote and starred in That Peter’s Thing for Channel 4.

Venues

Peter Kay was to do a 14-month stand-up tour in 2017. I deeply regret that I have to cancel all my upcoming work projects.”

He also expressed that “the decision was not made lightly and I am sure you will understand that my family must always come first.”

BelFast

Peter Kay has announced an additional tour date in Belfast next year due to high demand for tickets.

The Bolton comedian is about to embark on his first stand-up tour in 12 years and says it is good to get back to doing what he does best.

There has already been high demand for tickets for their two original dates on Thursday, 23 February 2023 and Friday, 24 February 2023 at Belfast’s SSE Arena and as a result an additional date has now been announced for Saturday, 25 February Is.

Retired

The comedian has kept a low profile since 2017, when he canceled his planned 14-month, 100-show standup tour due to “unforeseen family circumstances.”

Apart from a short return to the stage when he brought his Dance for Life Tour to the Manchester Central Convention Complex, the Phoenix Nights star hasn’t done a new show or stand-up tour in years.

49 Years old.

He has also starred in the ITV soap ‘Coronation Street’ and even appeared in Doctor.
