A member of the Republican Party, she serves as the U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 3rd congressional district. Born to Florida-born parents who moved to Colorado at age 12, Boebert dropped out of high school and, after a few years, began working at a drilling company, where she met her husband.

Together they founded Shooters Grill, a restaurant in Rifle, Colorado, where staff members are encouraged to openly carry firearms.

On January 5, Boebert refused to check bags after turning off the newly installed Capitol Hill metal detectors and entering the Capitol. He did the same on January 6, refusing to stop for a wand check after turning off the metal detector. Boebert called the metal detectors “just another political stunt by Speaker Pelosi”.

A New York Times profile of Boebert described his actions as “a moment made for Twitter that was far too happy.” The article stated that although she was only in Congress for a few days, she had “previously arranged several episodes that displayed her brand of far-right defiance as a conspiracy theorist” and that ” Representing the party’s up-and-coming faction for whom breaking the rules—and gaining notoriety for doing it—is the right thing to do.

She is 35 years old.

It appears that the only thing that can’t be said about Jason is that Rep. Boebert doesn’t want the public to know. In January 2004, when Jason Boebert was 24, he was arrested for exposing himself to two young women at a bowling alley in Colorado. His future wife, Lauren Roberts (as she was then known), who was 17 at the time, was also present and was told that she was no longer welcome at the bowling alley.

Salon has obtained a witness statement at the time written by Erica Anne Combs, one of two young women involved in the bowling alley incident, who still lives in Laurent Boebert’s congressional district. Coombs wrote that after harassing a third man, identified as Nora, Jason Boebert told Combs and another young woman, identified as Trisha Wallies, that she had a tattoo on her penis.

While three arrests and a court-ordered summons were for petty offenses—and in one case all charges were dropped—Boebert’s record is unusually long for a congressional candidate. It has become a campaign issue as the Republican from Rifle competes in a much-anticipated contest against Diane Mits Bush in the Third Congressional District, which spans western and southern Colorado.

Boebert was issued a ticket for dog code violations and shortly afterwards wrote to Soet, “You’ve taken the food out of my kids’ mouths,” according to Soet. According to the report of the Garfield County sheriff’s deputy, Boebert also showed “his middle finger” to Soet’s husband as he walked through the rifle.
