After his death, one of Cassius’ close family members, Jacob Collard, shared his thoughts on Facebook: “Cassius Tervey, the most loving, charming and caring person I ever knew. I remember that day very well.” It’s when you came and met my daughter. Cassius Turvey was born to his parents in Perth, Western Australia. As per reports, he passed away on October 23, 2022 at the age of 15. Reports say that Cassius is of indigenous background and that his mother is a Noongar-Ymatji woman. He holds Australian nationality. His ethnicity is white and his zodiac sign is not available.
Why Was Attacked
On 13 October, 15-year-old indigenous teenager Cassius Terve was attacked and killed on his way home from school northeast of Perth. The Noongar Yamatji boy was with his friends in Middle Hans when a group of people in a ute confronted him and hit him with a metal pole.
Cassius was taken to hospital, but was taken off life support after suffering a brain bleed and two strokes, passing away shortly after. Jack Brearley, 21, has since been charged with murder of Cassius, as well as bodily harm caused by theft and grievous assault.
The death of Cassius caused a wave of mourning across the country. However, responses to the attack issued by WA Premier Mark McGowan and WA Police Commissioner Colonel Blanche have drawn criticism. Although reports allege that racial slurs were used during the attack, McGowan and Blanche have both said that a formal investigation would not believe that the attack was not racially motivated.
“It’s extremely sad,” McGowan said. “I feel so much for the family of that little boy, he looked like a pretty little boy. They are doing a lot and it’s really unimaginable. I urge everyone to allow the law run its course.”
“You don’t want to interfere with these things. You’ve seen something happen in the past today that makes people say or do something they shouldn’t, and the tests are dropped.”
What Happened
A group of white men allegedly beat up a 15-year-old Perth schoolboy named Cassius Turvey. Cassius died on 13 October after he was allegedly attacked by a man riding a metal pole while hanging out with friends.
After spending nearly a fortnight in and out of the hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries and falling into an induced coma, Cassius surrendered to his injuries and died on 23 October.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s declaration to the mother of the Perth boy was “clearly racially motivated”.
“These are the words the country has been waiting for,” Nungar-Yamatji woman Mechel Turwe told mourners at a vigil held for Cassius in Perth. “Looks like you’re on the same page as our hearts.”
The prime minister told the media on Friday: “This attack, which is clearly racially motivated, just breaks your heart.”
Noongar Kishore was on his way home from school at around 4.30 pm on October 13 when he was allegedly thrashed with a metal pole, believed to be the handle of a shopping trolley.
Cassius was taken to the hospital with head injuries and placed in an induced coma, but died eight days later from his injuries.
Jack Brearley, 21, has been arrested and charged with murder and faces court in Perth in the coming month.
